Letter: Let’s not blame PG&E for climate change catastrophe

It’s not about PG&E. It’s about our amygdala trying to
protect us from the horror that is the climate change
catastrophe.

Congratulations on getting through denial into anger or maybe
even bargaining. Just two more stages to go – depression and
acceptance.

We must force ourselves to look at how we rearrange our world to
deal with the future. Tired of four-day Santa Ana winds causing
power blackouts? In 10 years, maybe it’s months of Santa Anas.

We’re going to have to give up stuff like reliable power. We
will have to spend more of our resources on infrastructure. Think
there is a refuge crisis now? What happens when large areas of the
world become uninhabitable? Get over it. Focus on solutions. This
is just the beginning.
