SAN JOSE – A woman was hit and killed by a light-rail train in
San Jose on Monday night, authorities said.
The collision occurred about 5:10 p.m. at Race Street and
Parkmoor Avenue, near the light-rail station, according to the
Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority. The victim was rushed
to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead a short time
The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the
fatality, said Sgt. Michael Low.
A bus bridge has replaced 902 Green Line service between the
Diridon and Fruitdale stations, according to the VTA.
